An indispensable Matcha utensil
This bamboo spoon, called Chashaku in Japanese, is one of the central utensils of the Matcha tea ceremony. It serves to precisely measure the Matcha powder: for a ceremonial bowl, count 2 spoonfuls for 5 cl of water; for a Matcha Latte, additionally add 10 cl of milk.
Matcha is a green tea whose leaves have been ground into an extremely fine powder. It is therefore not steeped but whisked and prepared using a whisk, a bowl, and a measuring spoon. To fully enjoy the creaminess and mildness of Matcha, it should be drunk immediately after preparation.
