The origins of Earl Grey
Earl Grey owes its standing as a celebrated English classic to an ancient Chinese formula: during the mid 1800s, Charles Grey, Earl of Fallodon and serving as Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, received from a Chinese mandarin the instructions for infusing tea with bergamot.
