This ebony knife provides the perfect solution for dividing compressed tea leaves while preserving their integrity.
Placing an entire piece of pressed tea cake directly into a teapot is not recommended: the density prevents the tea from releasing its full flavour under optimal brewing conditions.
It is preferable to fragment the cake using a knife, allowing you to measure out the precise quantity required for steeping.
