This bamboo scoop, known as chashaku in Japanese, represents one of the classical implements of the Japanese matcha tea ceremony. It enables precise measurement of the powder: for a ceremony type bowl, use 2 scoops with 5 cl of water; for a matcha latte, incorporate an additional 10 cl of milk.

Matcha stands apart from all other teas in that it comes from tea leaves ground to an exceptionally fine powder consistency. This green tea is thus not steeped but whisked vigorously. Vigorous and revitalizing in nature, it is traditionally prepared using a bamboo whisk, a bowl and a scoop.
