Temari Cup - 10 cl

A spring-like cup inspired by Japanese kimonos

This stoneware cup is adorned with floral motifs and little balls known as "temari" in Japanese.

Traditionally made from offcuts of fabric from old kimonos and then delicately embroidered, they are given to children for the new year. Printed on a thin, supple paper and then laid onto the cup, these motifs are transferred by pressure using a damp brush, by Mr Sabashi.
