Description
A remarkable selection of this singularly distinctive tea, harvested at peak quality with abundant leaf buds. Its vigorous flavour reveals pronounced notes of damp soil and woody bark. The name translates to "trouser pocket" – according to Chinese lore, tea pickers would secretly place the finest leaves in their clothing to carry away.
Traditional Chinese medicine has long held Pu Erh in high regard for its health promoting properties. It is believed to reduce cholesterol levels, facilitate the breakdown of lipids, support digestive function, enhance blood circulation and diminish the unpleasant consequences of alcohol consumption.
Owing to a singular fermentation process that continues working on the tea's tannins, this variety becomes increasingly refined and flavourful as it matures.
